Young Texas father of six shot to death by suspected car thieves: reports

An Arlington, Texas father of six with a baby on the way was fatally shot Tuesday morning after encountering suspects breaking into cars in his neighborhood, according to reports.

Arlington police were dispatched to a house on Prentice Street around 5:15 a.m. Tuesday morning to investigate a shooting.

When officers arrived, they found a 36-year-old man inside an SUV parked in his driveway who was unresponsive.

Fox station KDFW in Dallas reported the man as Ali Ismail, who police say was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to a news release from the department, a preliminary investigation found that two men broke into parked vehicles in the neighborhood where Ismail lived.

Ismail stopped in his driveway, investigators noted, when one of the suspects was in the driveway.

Police said the suspect drew a gun and shot Ismail multiple times before the two fled the neighborhood and headed east on Prentice Street.

Investigators are in the process of speaking with homeowners in the neighborhood to find surveillance footage from security cameras to help find the suspects.

No arrests have been made in the incident and the investigation is ongoing.

The Arlington Police Department did not immediately respond to questions about Tuesday’s incident.

KDFW reported that Ismail moved to the Dallas area from Wisconsin in 2008 and owned a trucking company called Panda Logistics.

Along with a trucking company, Ismail had six children, the oldest 13 and a baby on the way.

“He was an honest, kind and hard-working guy. He worked hard to have his own company. He’s a guy who is raising his children, you know, a family man,” Mustafa Yasiin, a friend of Ismail, told KDFW. “We are seeking justice.”
