A Catholic pro-life group held a day of mourning Saturday for the baby whose abortion death was recently broadcast live on NPR.
Priests for Life also christened the baby “Amanda Marie,” which means “she who should be loved,” according to a news release from the organization.
On November 3, in the run-up to an election in Michigan that offered voters a proposal to enshrine abortion as a constitutional right in the state, NPR broadcast live audio of an abortion procedure at the Northland Family Planning Clinic. in Sterling, Mich.
In the audio, NPR reporter Katie Wells interviewed several women about abortion before broadcasting the audio of an unidentified mother miscarrying at 11 weeks. The audio had the sound of a vacuum being used, the mother moaning, and a staff member named Brandy urging the mother to “just keep breathing.”
After the abortion, Brandy and abortionist Audrey Lance tell the mother, “You did it!”

In an open letter to the boy’s mother, abortionists, NPR and the public, Priests for Life urged repentance.
Expressing sympathy for the mother, the letter read in part: “Dear Mother, our hearts go out to you, our hearts weep for you and your Son. We know you were already in a difficult place inside to even consider abortion, and now, having ended the life of your Son, surely you are in an even darker, more difficult place (and, if you still do not recognize it, dear Mother, in due time, if you are honest, you will realize that they hurt, they hurt deeply )”.
“As many women who have had abortions have said, abortion not only hurts women, it destroys them,” added the part of the letter addressed to the mother.

The letter reserved special condemnation for both abortionists and NPR, alleging that the nonprofit media organization “missed something” when it neglected in its report to “describe what was taken from this woman.”
“We have similar words for you as we have for the abortionist and those who worked with him/her to kill little Amanda: shame on NPR for airing the brutal murder of a baby in the womb, shame on you.” on you for dishonoring baby Amanda Marie flaunting his death through the air! May God have mercy on your soul! Your actions were beyond shameful (and that you used taxpayer dollars for such an atrocity makes it even worse)!” the letter read in part.
HORRIBLE NPR RECORDING WON’T ‘NORMALIZE’ ABORTION
Father Frank Pavone, who serves as the national director of Priests for Life, said in a statement that his organization was “asking every pro-life individual, organization and legislator to mark the day with fasting and special prayers, including masses.” on December 1. 3, one month after the audio recording.
“The recording picks up the moans of the mother, but her son’s scream is silent,” Pavone said.

“The staff member with the mother says ‘You did it’ and ‘You did very well’ as the murder is complete. There is no mention of the baby who just died brutally at 11 weeks. The humanity of the baby is not even an afterthought,” Pavone continued, adding that Priests for Life aimed to “make a big deal out of what this broadcast trivialized.”
