The New York Police Department said thieves took more than two dozen vehicles from a luxury car dealership in Queens in the middle of the night on Sunday.

The thieves cut power to the Carsiri car dealership on Queens Boulevard sometime Sunday night, destroying surveillance video before breaking security door locks, entering the office and taking the car keys. . WNYW-TV reported.

In all, the thieves made off with 26 cars worth hundreds of thousands of dollars, police say.

The break-in marks the second multi-car theft from a New York City lot in the past month. Thieves stole 20 cars from a dealership in Jamaica, Queens, on October 13.

Investigators said after the first theft that the cars will likely be sold abroad or used to commit crimes in the United States.

“Our sentiment is just based on the way crime is going, the people who take these cars, they’re going to use these 20 cars on multiple robberies and thefts all over the city, turning plates on and off and off,” NYPD Detective Chief James Essig told reporters.
