MONROVIA – A team of fire experts from the United States has joined the investigation into the suspected arson attack on the Capitol Building, working alongside the Liberian National Police.

By Selma Lomax,, [email protected]

Inspector General Gregory Coleman explained that the U.S. experts are tasked with assessing the damage and assisting in the ongoing investigation, rather than conducting an independent inquiry.

The team visited the Capitol Building on Saturday, March 1, to begin their investigation.

According to Inspector General Coleman, a joint press conference will be held after the team completes their assessment.

In related legal news, the Monrovia City Court recently ruled that the prosecution has presented sufficient evidence for a trial against defendants Thomas Etheridge and Eric Sasay. The case will proceed in court.
