An American actress was attacked and injured by a seal on the popular Clifton Beach in Cape Town.
American actress, Loulou Taylor, said the attack happened on Clifton 4th on Tuesday.
Loulou is best known for her film roles: Good Life and the series –raised by wolves. She plays the role of Cassia, who is a recurring character in the TV series.
Loulou said she fell in love with Cape Town while filming Raised By Wolves and has lived here ever since.

Orange LEVEL 9 Weather Alert issued for KwaZulu-Natal
The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has issued Level 9 Orange and Level 5 Orange Warnings for KwaZulu-Natal for Thursday, January 5, 2023.
A Level 9 Orange Weather Warning has been issued for KwaZulu-Natal, resulting in the following:
- disruptive rain
- Widespread flooding of roads, settlements and bridges
- Danger to life from fast-flowing deep water
- Widespread displacement of communities
- Widespread and prolonged interruptions to essential services such as water, electricity and communication systems

Boksburg explosion death toll rises to 37
The death toll from the oil tanker explosion in Boksburg rose from 34 last week to 37 this week.
The rising death toll has saddened Gauteng Prime Minister Panyaza Lesufi following the explosion of the Boksburg oil tanker on Christmas Eve.

Police have notified the Gauteng provincial government that the death toll now stands at 37, and more body parts were found around the incident area.

Eskom said Stage 3 load shedding would be implemented on Wednesday afternoon. Here is their updated schedule for WEDNESDAY.
The power company said that due to the failure of two generating units and the delay in the return to service of three generating units from planned maintenance, Stage 3 will be implemented at 4:00 p.m. until further notice.

SASSA payments: Disability benefits can be collected from TODAY
The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has announced the payment dates of the social subsidy for January 2023 with the beneficiaries disability grants be able to start collecting your money in Wednesday, January 4.
The subsidies for the elderly and their associates were paid on Tuesday, followed by the disability subsidies (today) and the child’s subsidies (Thursday) on these dates.

Professional rally driver Ken Block (55), who died earlier this week, shared a creepy post on his social media days before his death.
Ken, whose daring stunts made him an internet sensation, was killed in a snowmobile accident on Monday, January 2, 2023, at approximately 2:00 p.m. in Wasatch County, Utah. He was 55 years old.
