The People’s Republic of China condemned the United States for the recent downing of a spy craft in US airspace.
The Foreign Affairs Committee of the National People’s Congress on Thursday reiterated the country’s claim that the route of a Chinese plane into the United States was unintentional.

The committee called US lawmakers’ outrage over the plane “purely malicious exaggeration and political manipulation.”
He continued: “In fact, it is the United States that rampantly interferes in the internal affairs of other countries, violates their sovereignty, and monitors other countries.”

The statement repeated talking points already discussed by the nation’s Foreign Ministry.
The Foreign Office has been highly critical of the US government’s handling of the situation in recent weeks, accusing government officials of putting on a show of a delicate situation.

“China strongly opposes this and will take countermeasures in accordance with the law against relevant US entities that undermine China’s sovereignty and security,” Wang said.
Wang did not elaborate on what the proposed “countermeasures” might be, but the spokesman promised that the communist nation would “resolutely safeguard national sovereignty and its legitimate rights and interests.”
