The woman who was a person of interest in the murders of a Florida couple inside their retirement community is now facing murder charges.
Vickie Lynn Williams, 50, appeared before a Lake County judge on Saturday who announced the two additional charges of first-degree murder in the deaths of Darryl Getman, 83, and Sharon Getman, 80, FOX reports. 35 Orlando.
Williams was only previously charged with vehicular theft in the case after he was found with Getman’s car in Georgia.
“He is charged with one count of grand theft of property established by law. The other charges are two counts of first degree murder. After reviewing his criminally indigent status, I have appointed the public defender’s office to represent him,” Judge Emily Curington said. during the Zoom court session. “There is no bail on any of these three charges.”

Vickie Lynn Williams, 50, of Savannah, Georgia, was arrested on one count of carjacking and was being held at the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office while awaiting extradition to Florida.

Williams was extradited to Tavares, Florida from Savannah, Georgia. He reportedly had little to say during the hearing.
Williams’ next hearing will be an arraignment on January 30.

The Getmans were found dead inside an apartment in the Waterman Village senior community in Mount Dora around 4 p.m. on December 31 after a concerned resident alerted security that the couple’s garage door was open. . When security went to the couple’s home, they found a crime scene and called the police.

Mount Dora Acting Police Chief Mike Gibson said the murder appears to be a “random crime”, and that the woman does not appear to have any connection to the Getmans, Mount Dora, or Central Florida. Rather, she was “passing through”.
The Getmans children told FOX 35 that they adored their Mount Dora community and had lived in the town for more than 20 years.
