ATHENS, Georgia – Thanksgiving may be in the rear view mirror, but college football fans are gearing up for a second party this weekend: tailgating.
No one celebrates time-honored tradition quite like the SEC, which is why Fox News visited the University of Georgia during a recent home game to ask one simple question: What’s the best backyard food?
HYBRID PUMPKIN AND CHORIZO SOUP RECIPE WITH CHILI IS ‘THE PERFECT FALL DISH’
“Jambalaya,” Jones told Fox News. “It’s the perfect dish. You’ve got rice, you’ve got meat. It fills you up, and it’s got good stuff.”
The butter board, an appetizer that took TikTok by storm, appeared at a tailgate. Amy flavored it with cilantro, onions, jalapenos and assorted spices to fit in with the Tex-Mex theme of her family’s banquet, which included taquitos, salsa, sopapillas and “a little Arby’s for good measure.”

Barbecue was a crowd favorite, but some fans found pleasure in simpler snacks.
“I appreciate pigs in a blanket,” Drew said. “It’s underrated, but they get the job done.”
Rick Floyd and friends were roasting 120 pounds of London Broil at Libation Station, the biggest backdoor Fox News ever found at UGA.
“I need you to act like it’s not your last meal,” Floyd implored the crowd of about 175 people. Standing on a stage made of ice chests, he offered a brief prayer, then led the crowd through an eardrum-popping “call of the dogs.”
Floyd and his college buddies founded Libation Station in the 1980s. Now it’s a favorite fall hangout for dozens of families.

“This is the tailgate I’ve been going to for a couple of years, or basically my whole life,” Sinclair, 9, told Fox News. His favorite food is macaroni and cheese because “it’s so cheesy”.
