The military is investigating the death of a Marine found dead at his barracks in California earlier this month, according to reports.
The investigation into what happened to Christopher Hutchings, who grew up in Colorado, will be conducted by the Armed Forces Medical Examiner in conjunction with the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS), reported KKTV in Colorado Springs.
Hutchings was found dead on February 5 inside his Camp Pendleton barracks. Sources told the news outlet that the death is considered suspicious.

Hutchings left for Marine boot camp in 2022, according to the news report. His funeral is scheduled for February 26, the Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office posted on Facebook Thursday.
Local lifeguards will take part in a procession in his honor.
