As the animal shelter opens up for more visitations, here’s a look at some of the 228 dogs and 189 cats currently housed at OC Animal Care in Tustin waiting to be adopted as of Aug. 14.
Quartz
Quartz has been at OC Animal Care in Tustin for about five months after she came into the shelter as a confiscated pet. Staff notations describe that she’s improved on walks with volunteers and is calm when around other dogs.
Staff recommends an owner that has experience with large dogs for Quartz. She’s available for adoption and the shelter’s new foster-to-adopt program.

She is currently being monitored for stiff rear legs and a possible neurological problem. She is available for adoption and may need additional vet consultations. Staff notations recommend gentle handling of Olga.

OC Animal Care, the county-run animal shelter in Tustin, is open daily for adoption visits from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
To schedule an adoption visit, call the main line at (714) 935-6848 and mention the animal ID number for any specific pet you might be interested in.
The shelter also offers viewing hours daily from 2 to 5 p.m., including weekends. During this time, visitors can freely walk through the kennel areas.
