Disrupt TV, a new YouTube channel for disruptors, innovators and change makers in Africa, held its StartUp Diaries season finale on Friday at Alliance Franchise.
The channel’s first series StartUp Diaries Season One came to an end, while StartUp Diaries was created for new and existing Gambian founders, in which viewers said the show was “insightful, inspiring and brilliant”.
Since its launch on May 3, 2022, Disrupt TV has published 10 episodes of StartUp Diaries and has had 4,300 views, 230+ subscribers, and 330+ hours watched.
Each episode has an in-depth interview with a Founder, sharing their journey and strategies. StartUp Diaries is aimed at Gambian viewers and diasporas around the world.
The series is sponsored by PointClick Technologies, a cloud service provider operating in the US, Africa, Europe and Asia, based in The Gambia for the last four years. Disrupt TV is part of The Disruptive Lab, The Gambia’s first technology and innovation hub, which is fully funded by PointClick Technologies.
Series producer and CEO of PointClick Technologies Malik Khan said that building a strong business ecosystem requires sharing and being together.
“This is why we launched Disrupt TV. Our first show, StartUp Diaries, is an exciting initiative for us and we want it to inspire start-up entrepreneurs both in The Gambia and in the diaspora.”
“Each Featured Founder provides a wealth of insight into the challenges and opportunities facing organizations in The Gambia, especially when starting out. We hope that starting this conversation will encourage more startups in the country. PointClick Technologies is proud to be the sponsor of the first season. .”
Sharing her experience working with the StartUp Diaries, Anna Ceesay, owner of Fabella Communications Consultancy, testified that she worked on the Disrupt TV series StartUp Diaries as a communications consultant.
“The best thing about this show is that you get to see the Gambian founders being honest about what it takes to build something from scratch. Watching them is incredibly inspiring and I learned a lot from them. The Gambia is a very entrepreneurial place and it’s an exciting time for start new businesses and organizations,” he said.
