A Texas man accused of burning down two homes and clashing with SWAT has been charged with additional charges.
Pablo Patino-Bustos went to his in-laws’ house in Spring, Texas, where his ex-wife was staying. At 3:30 am he intentionally set the house on fire to lure his wife outside, where he was waiting inside a vehicle, authorities said.
As the wife evacuated the burning home, Patino allegedly hit her with his vehicle.
Logan Saldana, the victim’s 23-year-old brother, was trying to put out the flames with a fire extinguisher when he heard his sister scream.

“I heard her say, ‘What’s going on?’ and she left,” Saldana said. “I heard the car screeching, making a donut, and he came over and hit her with the car and drove off.”
Patino was on the run for two days before he was caught at the home of his current wife, who called the authorities. The agents swept the house, discovered Patino with a firearm, who then started the confrontation.
As authorities worked to remove him from the home, smoke began billowing from the windows, followed by flames. It wasn’t until the roof began to burn completely that Patino turned himself in to the police.

The house in Lotus Blossom is considered a total loss, but the fire did not affect neighboring houses, according to authorities.
“Pablo Patino was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail on his felony warrants and charged with terroristic threat and arson. His total bail was set at $4,500,000.00 by the 337th District Court and the 5th County Court.” said Agent Mark Herman.
