Tallahassee police investigate shooting on Florida A&M campus that left one person dead

The Tallahassee Police Department is investigating a shooting that left one person dead and four others injured on the basketball courts on the Florida A&M campus on Sunday afternoon.

The shooting happened around 4:30 p.m. near the university’s student recreation center.

There were no suspects in custody as of 8:00 p.m. Sunday night, but a Tallahassee police spokesperson said they did not believe there was an ongoing threat to the community.

The deceased victim was an adult male. A youth and three other men were injured, with injuries ranging from minor to serious.

Their identities have not been released and it is unclear if any of them were Florida A&M students.

The school sent out a shelter-in-place alert Sunday afternoon, but that advisory has since been lifted.
