“There are many similarities that suggest a modus operandi,” Miller said. “It was the same bar, more than one man was involved, the use of alcoholic beverages was common and he was separating himself from friends… It suggests that he is taking advantage of vulnerable women.”

TIMELINE OF THE ALLEGED RAPE AND DEATH OF MADISON BROOKS
Washington’s attorney, Ron Haley, said in a statement to the media after Washington’s third arrest that there are “several concerns with the most recent charge.”
“First, as in the Livingston case, the ‘follow-up’ investigation took place around January 25, 2023,” Haley said, referring to the time the victim reported the alleged rape to police.
“Second, the incident date on Mr. Washington’s arrest warrant is different from that of his co-defendant. Third, nothing related to intoxication is mentioned on his co-defendant’s arrest warrant. It states that the victim was having consensual sex with her co-defendant in the presence of Mr. Washington.”

While the case involving Brooks and the October 2022 victim will be separate, the two cases will have an impact on each other, as will the Livingston Parish case, Miller said.
He believes the October 2022 case could move faster because the whistleblower is alive and will “carry about 80 percent” of the evidence, compared to the Brooks case, where prosecutors have to piece together what happened without Brooks. .
