A shooting in the Mexican state of Guanajuato left nine dead and two more wounded on Wednesday night.
Local police said that a group of armed people showed up at the Apaseo el Alto bar on Wednesday night around 9:00 pm and began firing their weapons at the people inside.
Authorities said that while the suspects have not been identified, the signs left behind alluded to “a criminal group.” It is common for cartels to leave signs or messages after killing others.
After the shooting, local authorities said more law enforcement would move to the area, including the National Guard.

In October, 12 people in a bar in Irapuato, also in the Mexican state of Guanajuato, were found dead. In September, an additional shooting left 10 dead.
According to the New York Post, one of the letters left by the Santa Rosa de Lima gang read “Get out of here, sons of bitches.”

The letter apparently accused the bar owners of being sympathizers with the Jalisco cartel, a rival to the Santa Rosa de Lima gang.
