Syracuse University’s online degree programs have seen a significant increase in US News & World Report’s 2023 Best Online Programs rankings. The University climbed 35 places and is now ranked 21st among national universities and the ranked 5 among private schools.

US News Ranking ChartRepresenting a partnership between the College of Professional Studies and the Whitman School of Management, the AACSB-accredited business administration degree is ranked #8 in Best Online Business Degree Programs (#5 in Private Schools) , while Syracuse University also earned a ranking (No. 13) for Best Online Degree Program for Veterans (No. 3 in private schools).

This is the highest ranking Syracuse University has achieved in the history of its online undergraduate programs.

“Our rapid movement through the US News rankings is a direct result of Syracuse University’s commitment to quality, rigor, high-touch student support, and distinctive excellence in online education,” says Michael Frasciello. , Dean of the Faculty of Professional Studies. “And while the rankings are a confirmation of our excellence, the most important measures are found in the data: in the dramatically expanded access we are creating to Syracuse University; in the dramatically increasing number of military-related students we serve; in our extremely high credit transfer rates and our rapidly increasing persistence and graduation rates. To be more precise, our success in this year’s rankings is directly related to the growing number of diverse students who are transforming their lives with an education at Syracuse University through our online programs.”

Syracuse University currently offers 10 market-sensitive online undergraduate degrees, as well as eight online undergraduate credit certificates through the College of Professional Studies.

The bachelor’s degree in business administration maintained its top 10 ranking from last year. “The Whitman School of Management is very proud of our partnership with the College of Professional Studies. This most recent award helps underscore the strength and potential of joint programs, where we draw on both partners’ areas of expertise to better support our students,” offered Alex McKelvie, Interim Dean of Whitman School.

The University’s 13th ranking for Best Online Degree Programs for Veterans is recognition of Syracuse University’s commitment to being the best school for veterans, active duty military, and military-related students, jumping 27 places from the ranking last year. Syracuse is the only R1 private university in the Northeast offering part-time residential and online undergraduate study for active duty military, guardsmen, and reservists at their respective tuition assistance (TA) rates beyond the member’s annual benefit. This means that active duty and reserve students pay no more than $250 per credit (or the current DoD TA rate) after spending their annual TA allowance.

US News & World Report ranks more than 350 US public and private institutions that award online bachelor’s degrees on multiple measures of academic quality along with factors of program delivery and effectiveness of awarding affordable degrees over a period of time reasonable. Rankings are based on methodology used by the publication that includes student engagement, services and technologies, faculty credentials and training, plus expert opinion provided by senior academic officials who help explain intangible factors that affect program quality that are not captured. by statistics.
