Yonkers police caught a repeat shoplifter Friday days after he was allegedly caught on video shoplifting from a department store.
Body camera footage released by the department shows officers arresting 25-year-old Franklyn Rosario after she attempted to flee a bus stop.
The arrest came after video showed a masked man brazenly stuffing a bag with items stolen from Marshall’s on Central Park Avenue. In the video, some good Samaritans try to stop him from leaving the store, but he pushes them away.
Officers tracked down Rosario after being flagged down by Marshall’s loss prevention manager.
“Franklyn was a real tough guy the other day when a couple of good Samaritans tried to stop him from robbing a store and he pushed them away, this time when the police came up to him he tucked his tail in and tried to run but didn’t make it too far.” Yonkers police tweeted.

“We think it’s fair to say that society is fed up with brazen thieves like Franklyn, to the point that civilians are now taking action, which we advise against for their own personal safety.”
Yonkers police said Friday marked Rosario’s 13th arrest.

“[S]shoplifting is NOT a victimless crime: prices go up, quality of life goes down, crime begets crime, business goes out, etc.,” Yonkers police tweeted. “Yonkers Police will always do our part to release perpetrators of crime into the legal system where they are held accountable.”
