A New York Supreme Court judge on Friday struck down an injunction requiring all health care workers in the state to be vaccinated against the coronavirus, saying Gov. Kathy Hochul and the New York State Department of Health had exceeded his authority.
In his ruling, Judge Gerard Neri said the mandate is “null and void and of no effect” because the state cannot require health care workers to receive vaccinations that are not required under public health law, which includes mumps. , measles and hepatitis.
The state health department said Saturday that it is “exploring its options” following the ruling.
