Elon Musk revealed that he “personally wanted to hit” Kanye West after the rapper posted a photo of a swastika on Twitter.
“How are you going to balance the level at which we talk about free speech on Twitter?” Musk was asked during a live question-and-answer session about the “Twitter files,” which revealed how the tech giant censored the Hunter Biden laptop story ahead of the 2020 election.
“I personally wanted to hit Kanye, so that definitely incited me to violence. That’s not right,” Musk responded.
West, now going by Ye, was suspended from his Twitter account Friday after posting a photo of a swastika inside the Star of David.

“I did my best. Despite that, you violated our rule against inciting violence again. Account will be suspended,” Musk posted on Twitter Friday about West’s account.
Musk later explained that West was suspended “because at some point you have to say what is incitement to violence because it’s against the law in the United States.”

Kanye’s suspension comes as Musk shared explosive information with Substack journalist Matt Taibbi last week about how Twitter suppressed the Hunter Biden laptop story ahead of the 2020 presidential election. Taibbi posted a lengthy Twitter thread on Friday at night, explaining to readers how Twitter officials suspended, banned, and censored users who commented on the Biden laptop story.

“Some of the earliest speech monitoring tools were designed to combat spam and financial scammers. Slowly, over time, Twitter staff and executives began to find more and more uses for these tools. Outsiders began to request company to manipulate speech as good: first a little, then more often, then constantly,” Taibbi wrote on Friday. “By 2020, requests from online actors to remove tweets were routine. One executive wrote to another: ‘More to review from the Biden team.’ The answer would be: ‘Managed’.”
Twitter did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment on Musk’s latest comments.
