A Michigan man exposed his buttocks to a judge during a virtual court appearance Monday.
Hassan Chokr, 35, was in court for a virtual emergency bail motion hearing regarding a charge of resisting arrest in Wayne County when he taunted Judge Regina Thomas, and the court has now reversed his bail, according to FOX 2.
Chokr was out on bail when he also allegedly shouted anti-Semitic remarks outside a West Bloomfield Temple nursery on Friday.
The prosecutor said during the hearing that Chokr had “posted videos and statements on Instagram where he talks about buying weapons and in one of his Instagram posts the defendant says: ‘Your Jewish tactics will only backfire on you, you have no place on this earth. , jewish [expletive] jewish mother [expletives]. A storm is coming to erase them all from our lives.'”

Then Chokr, who had said that he pleads for the fifth, got frustrated. He started yelling and pointing at the camera during the hearing. Thomas said the court had muted Chokr’s microphone amid the outburst from him.
“I want the record to reflect that although the court muted the defendant’s microphone, he appears to be yelling and pointing at the camera in the Oakland County Jail,” Thomas said. “And now he has taken off his pants to show the court his behind.”
Attorney Duane Johnson said he wanted to make a record of Chokr’s defense in the case, and the judge raised questions about the defendant’s mental state.
“You can go ahead and make a record, but frankly, he seems to be mentally ill,” Thomas said. “I don’t know why anyone would think it appropriate to drop their pants and show their butt to the court during a court proceeding.”

Johnson said a mental health evaluation would “probably be a good thing” and claimed that Chokr was expressing his free speech.
Thomas, however, rejected the First Amendment argument.
“We are free to say what we want to say, but we are not free from the consequences,” Thomas said. “So if we’re doing things that aren’t safe and we’re infringing on other people’s rights, we can’t do or say what we want without consequences for those actions. That’s where your client is today.”

“He exercised his right, and I am exercising my right to give him a consequence for that. Nothing any of us do in this life is without consequence,” he continued.
The judge also addressed allegations that Chokr went onto private property and harassed women and children. He said the court was concerned that he was in the community.
