If you’re looking to retire soon or know someone who is, location is very important to overall post-retirement happiness. US News & World Report recently published its 2022/2023 list of the best places to retire in the US.
The list took into account housing affordability, convenience and medical care.
Emily Brandon, Senior Retirement Editor for US News, says, “The drastic turnaround in the housing market, high inflation and concerns about an impending recession have retirees weighing home affordability more when considering retirement.”
“In addition, with COVID continuing to be a concern and access to good, affordable health care is important for retirees, Pennsylvania dominated the top positions of the Best Places to Retire rankings, taking five of the top 10 spots on the list. list,” adds Brandon.
Four areas in the top 5 this year are new. The Florida and Pennsylvania areas dominated the list.
The list evaluated 150 of the most populous metropolitan areas in the country.
