Monrovia—The civil society organization Solidarity and Trust for a New Day (STAND) has publicly responded to recent allegations suggesting that it is involved in efforts to unseat Speaker J. Fonati Koffa in collaboration with Deputy Speaker Thomas Fallah.

In a statement released Friday, STAND categorically denied the claims, labeling them as unfounded and an attempt to undermine the organization’s integrity and mission.

The statement emphasized that any suggestion of STAND’s Chairman meeting with members of the House of Representatives for political influence is entirely fictitious.

STAND, a non-political civil society organization, is dedicated to promoting justice, accountability, and democratic governance in Liberia. The organization stated that it serves as a voice for the people, working diligently to uphold human rights and empower communities.

“Our current efforts are focused on expressing gratitude to communities for their support in establishing our national headquarters, and not on political maneuvering,” STAND noted in the statement.

The organization reassured the public that its operations are rooted in accountability and transparency.

STAND urged the public to refrain from spreading unfounded rumors and to focus on constructive dialogue aimed at building a unified Liberia.

The organization reiterated its commitment to serving the interests of the people and maintaining its non-political stance.

STAND, however, invites the public to engage with its initiatives aimed at fostering democratic values throughout the nation.
