The Liberia Chamber of Commerce (LCC) inaugurated its newly elected officials on Friday, February 9, at the James E. Pierre Hall of the Grand Masonic Temple on Benson Street in Monrovia. These officials will lead the organization for the next two years, following elections held on December 5, 2023

MONROVIA — Mr. O. Natty B. Davis, the new President of the Liberia Chamber of Commerce, asserts that for the private sector to serve as the engine of economic growth and employment, it is imperative for the Chamber to collaborate with the government in implementing the appropriate policy responses.

He emphasizes that these responses should foster policy dialogue between the public and private sectors through the formulation of research studies, policy analysis, and advocacy. Mr. Davis notes that the Chamber will actively engage in offering policy formulation to address the challenges facing Liberia.

Addressing government officials, invited guests, and Chamber members, Mr. Davis stated, “The Chamber has taken the necessary measures to implement the right policy responses.”

Additionally, Mr. Davis pledged to prioritize several initiatives, including finalizing a functional alternative dispute resolution environment through a credible national arbitration system, enhancing trade facilitation by ratifying the Africa Continental Free Trade Agreement, and improving relations between the private sector and various government entities.

“As your President, my commitment is to lead with integrity, transparency, and inclusiveness, ensuring that the Chamber remains dynamic and responsive to the needs of all members,” affirmed Mr. Davis.

The completion of a fully functioning standards authority, expanding and diversifying the Chamber’s revenue base, and enhancing the capacity of the secretariat are among the objectives outlined by Mr. Davis. Regular public/private business dialogue meetings with the government will also be prioritized to foster collaboration.
