The Sun published a column by Jeremy Clarkson on Friday in which the former top team Y The Grand Tour host wrote that he “hates[s]”Meghan Markle” at the cellular level.
“At night, I can’t sleep as I lie there, gnashing my teeth and dreaming of the day she’ll be forced to parade naked through the streets of every town in Britain while the crowds yell, ‘Shame!’ and throw loads of excrement at him,” she continued, referring to a game of Thrones scene.
“Everybody my age thinks the same way,” he said.
What’s this ??
I don’t care who you are or who you work for, you just can’t write stuff like this. It is a blatant call to incite humiliation and violence against a woman. Some have excused it as black humor. here’s my joke @JeremyClarkson and no excuse https://t.co/ewU8bnykhj— John Bishop (@JohnBishop100) December 18, 2022
Media personality Carol Vorderman tweeted an excerpt from the column which read: “Not on any level, under any circumstances, is it okay to write these things about any woman and absolutely NOT to ‘everyone my age thinks the same’ No , nerd”.
Former footballer and comedian John Bishop responded: “It’s a blatant call to incite humiliation and violence against a woman.”
“Literally gobsmacked” and “totally vile and disgusting,” comedian Dom Joly described column, while Clarkson’s own daughter, Emily Clarkson, shared on her instagram stories Domingo: “My views are and always have been clear when it comes to misogyny, harassment and the media’s treatment of women.
“I want to make it very clear that I am opposed to everything my father wrote about Meghan Markle and I continue to support those who are the objects of hate online.”
That would be the same Jeremy Clarkson who was at a private Christmas party with Camilla, the Queen consort earlier this week (along with guests including a Daily Mail editor and Piers Morgan). https://t.co/idGMhwOL9y

Royal reporter Omid Scobie also commented on the column, revealing that Clarkson was recently invited to a private Christmas party with Queen Camilla. Piers Morgan was also invited to the event.
As a result, negative hashtags about Camilla began trending on Twitter, including “#CamillaParkerBowlesIsABully,” with one user commenting: “Even if you don’t like your stepson, don’t throw a celebration to honor the people who are harassing him, his wife, and their kids.”
Clarkson’s column and backlash come fresh from the release of Part II of harry and meghanthe revealing Netflix documentary series of the couple in which they criticize the British press for the way they mistreated Meghan in particular.
In the series, the couple also alleges that the institution feeds the press, claiming that at one point, Charles leaked a story about the couple that led them to abruptly announce their departure from the firm.
Elsewhere, Prince Harry claims that Prince William’s office gave a former assistant to the couple, who stayed on with William and Kate, the go-ahead to testify for Associated Newspaper in Meghan Markle’s legal battle against them. However, the Duchess of Sussex ultimately won her case and the court rejected the Mail’s subsequent appeal.
