An Illinois man is facing murder charges after law enforcement officers found his deceased cousin in a wheelbarrow Wednesday, authorities say.
Lake County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a home on West Shenandoah Trail in Wadsworth, Illinois, just before 6:30 p.m. Wednesday to check on the well-being of Monica Green, 47, who lived in the home. .
The Lake County Sheriff’s Office in Illinois arrested Quentin V. Harvell for allegedly killing his cousin, whose body was found in a wheelbarrow along a tree line behind a house.

The sheriff’s office said in a news release that a relative of Green’s told police they were supposed to pick her up for an appointment, but became concerned when Green did not answer the doorbell or phone calls.

As the relative waited in the driveway, Green’s cousin Quentin V. Harvell, 27, who lived at the residence, said Green was not home.
The caller told officers that it was strange that Green was not there because he did not have any means of transportation.
The agents spoke to the caller when they arrived, and at one point, Harvell left the house and also spoke to the agents.
Agents noticed dried blood on Harvell’s arms, the statement said, and he was taken into custody. After taking Harvell into custody, officers investigated the scene and saw blood inside the home and a shovel near the back door.

When officers looked outside, they located a wheelbarrow near a tree line at the rear of the property, with Green, who was dead.

Agents said Green appeared to have multiple “slashing force” wounds, or stab wounds, and cuts on her body.
Sheriff’s office detectives obtained a search warrant for the home and found various pieces of evidence, including a knife with what appeared to be fresh blood on it, the statement said.
Harvell was taken to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office and ultimately charged with two counts of first degree murder.

Although Harvell was charged with killing a person, he was charged with first-degree murder with intent to kill and first-degree murder with a high probability of killing, deputies said Thursday, and was set on $10 million bail.
