FIRST ON FOX: MOSCOW, Idaho – A former tenant of the Moscow, Idaho, home where four University of Idaho students were murdered on November 13, says it was hard to hear activity on the second and third floors of the home from the first, where she lived.

Ryan Augusta, a local healthcare worker and business owner who now lives in Genesee, Idaho, told Fox News Digital in an interview when he lived on the first floor of the home on King Road in 2019, unless his roommate was listening to the TV at full volume. the second floor, usually “heard nothing” from the second and third floors.

“I wouldn’t have heard it from downstairs,” Augusta said when asked if she could hear activity coming from the second and third floors of the house when she lived on the first.

At the time of the November quadruple homicide, there were six tenants listed on the lease for the house located near the university campus, next to Greek Row, where the student fraternity and sorority houses are located.

The house has three floors, and each floor has two bedrooms and a bathroom. The first floor has a door that is accessed from the driveway and the second floor has a sliding door that is accessed from the ground and the backyard because the house was built on a slope in the backyard.

Moscow police have said two of the victims’ roommates, both living on the first floor, survived the attack which left 20-year-old Ethan Chapin; Xana Kernodle, 20; Kaylee Goncalves, 21; and Madison Mogen, 21, killed in the early hours of November 13.

IDAHO POLICE SAY SIXTH PERSON IN LEASE AT HOME WHERE FOUR COLLEGE STUDENTS WERE KILLED

In 2019, when Augusta lived in the house, the residence had code locks on each bedroom door because each bedroom was rented individually to tenants, she said. It’s unclear if that was still the case when the victims began their lease on June 5.

“It’s a community house. You never locked the [side] screen door. Why would you close the screen door? I mean, you have locks on all the rooms, so we never close the screen door,” Augusta said.

Social media posts from other victims showed pictures of the house showing that the locks had since been changed. Team Idaho & Team Washington Property Management, which manages the property, had no comment.

FATHER OF IDAHO COLLEGE MURDER VICTIM SAYS HIS DAUGHTER DIED ‘IN THE SAME BED’ AS HER BEST FRIEND

He said people frequently used a “walking trail” that led directly from the King Road house area to nearby fraternities.

“People would continue to walk down that road to that parking lot because they probably parked there and lived in the [nextdoor] brown complex or something,” Augusta explained. “So, yeah, people go through that all the time. You would always listen to the people in the front. Always rubbish on the floor, broken bottles, it was pretty disgusting.”

The former tenant said he didn’t have many concerns about his own safety in the neighborhood, but added: “I was worried about the safety of everyone else at 1122, but that’s because there were a lot of rowdy parties.”

“I was more worried about drunken hooligans just causing a ruckus,” he said.

Augusta said she has since submitted two leads to police and is considering a third based on her experience in Moscow and living in the house.
