As Idaho police and federal law enforcement continue their search to identify a suspect in the murders of four University of Idaho students, community members and local business owners are contributing to the memorials.
Four University of Idaho students, Ethan Chapin, 20; Xana Kernodle, 20; Madison Mogen, 21; and Kaylee Goncalves, 21, were stabbed to death early Sunday between 3 a.m. and 4 a.m. at a Moscow, Idaho, residence near the university campus.
As of Friday night, police have no suspects in the fatal stabbings, according to a news release from the Moscow Police Department.
According to police, the Latah County Coroner believes “all four victims were likely asleep, some had defensive wounds, and each was stabbed multiple times.”

Police said in a press release late Friday that they have not recovered the weapon used in the incident and have contacted local businesses in an attempt to find out where the “fixed blade knife” was purchased.
Two roommates who were in the house during the incident were also cleared Friday and are not considered suspects.

Several memorials for the four students have been established throughout the University of Idaho campus. Three memorials have been installed at the campus entrances, with various flowers and messages at each location.
“Rest easy sweet Kaylee,” one message reads, referring to Kaylee Goncalves, whose sorority was Alpha Phi.
Local businesses throughout Moscow, Idaho, where the university is located, also displayed signs in support of the community after the four students were killed.

“Love and prayers to all of our vandals,” reads a sign at a fast food restaurant.
“We support our Vandal family,” reads another sign.
Shortly before they were killed, Mogen and Goncalves were seen at a local food truck via a Twitch stream before returning to their residence.

Police said Kernodle and Chapin were attending a party at the Sigma Chi fraternity house on campus before returning to the King Road home around 1:45 a.m. Sunday.
Investigators continue to gather evidence at the King Road house.
The University of Idaho plans to host a candlelight vigil on campus on November 30 to honor the four slain students.
