Stephen Boss, better known by his stage name tWitch, has died. He was 40 years old.
According to TMZPolice said the star’s wife, Allison Holker, with whom she hosts Disney+ Disney Fairytale Weddingshe told police Tuesday that tWitch had left home without his car and was not like him.
They later responded to a shooting at a Los Angeles hotel where the star was found dead, the publication reports.
It is suspected that he committed suicide by an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Holker later confirmed his death in a statement to Peoplesaying, “It is with the greatest regret that I have to share that my husband Stephen has left us. Stephen brightened every room he walked into. He valued family, friends and community above all else and leading with love and light was all”. He was the backbone of our family, the best husband and father, and an inspiration to his fans.
“To say he left a legacy would be an understatement, and his positive impact will continue to be felt. I’m sure not a day will go by that we don’t honor his memory. We ask for privacy during this difficult time for me and especially our three children.”
“Stephen, we love you, we miss you, and I will always save the last dance for you.”
tWitch, a dancer, rose to fame in 2008 when he was runner-up in So you think you can dance. He would later come back to judge the show.
He went on to star in films including Magic Mike XXL as well as multiple movies in the Increase franchise.
However, he was best known for being the DJ at The Ellen DeGeneres Showwhere he became an executive producer in 2020 following employee claims about a toxic workplace.
tWitch stayed on the show until it ended earlier this year.
