A Connecticut mother followed her instincts and saved her 7-year-old daughter from a ferocious rabid raccoon that attacked her on the family’s front porch.
Shocking security footage captured the wild creature ambushing the young woman, Rylee MacNamara, as she was leaving her home in Canterbury, Connecticut, to head to school at 7:45 am on Friday, December 2.

A girl was on her porch early in the morning on her way to school when a raccoon ran up to her leg and grabbed on, as the girl screamed for her life.

A mother rushed to her daughter’s aid when a raccoon bit the 7-year-old outside her front door Friday morning, knocking the animal off her and into the front yard.

The ferocious raccoon dug its claws into Rylee’s left foot as she struggled to break free of the wild animal, swinging her leg from side to side in a desperate attempt to break free.
Despite their attempts, the raccoon clung on for dear life until the mother, hearing her daughter’s panicked screams, rushed to her aid.
In home security footage, the mother, Kelsey MacNamara, is seen grabbing the raccoon by the scruff of the scruff of the scruff of the scruff of the scruff of the scruff of the house and throwing it back into the yard.

MacNamara posted the dramatic video on his Facebook page, writing: “Per Rylee’s request, ‘show y’all what the raccoon did,’ we are headed to get checked for rabies after this unprovoked raccoon attack. No I can tell you how proud I am.” of this brave girl!”
