The accused Colorado Club Q shooter was indicted on 305 counts Tuesday, including murder, hate crimes and assault, according to local news reports.
Anderson Lee Aldrich, the 22-year-old suspect in a shooting that injured 22 people, including five fatally, at an LGBTQ nightclub in Colorado Springs last month, was scheduled to appear in El Paso County court Tuesday morning. Prosecutors announced during the hearing that the charges had been formally filed.
The five people who died in the shooting on November 20 were Daniel Aston, Kelly Loving, Ashley Paugh, Derrick Rump and Raymond Green Vance. Police said another 17 people suffered gunshot wounds.

Aldrich’s lawyers filed court documents saying the suspect identifies as non-binary and uses they/them pronouns. During the shootout, Aldrich was reportedly beaten by the club’s patrons who thwarted the attack. A US Army veteran who served three tours in Iraq and one in Afghanistan was credited with helping to disarm the accused gunman.

During a previous court appearance on Nov. 23, Aldrich’s face was badly bruised and, as he spoke briefly, he was slurred and hunched over, according to The Denver Post.

Aldrich was initially detained on suspicion of five counts of first-degree murder and five counts of hate crimes, but formal charges were not filed until Tuesday. The 305 charges include first-degree murder after deliberation and hate crimes causing bodily injury.
