Chicago police arrested a 41-year-old man Saturday after he stabbed an officer in the head and shoulder with a knife, according to reports.

Officers were dispatched to a residence at 7:30 p.m. on December 10, and upon arrival learned that a man, later identified as 41-year-old Romaine Heath, entered the residence and threatened a woman with a knife.

The officers reportedly confronted Heath and ordered him to drop the knife multiple times. In the process, officers were able to get the woman to safety, though her interaction with Heath did not go well as he refused to comply.

Police said that after several failed attempts to get Heath to drop the knife, one of the officers fired a Taser at the suspect, but was unsuccessful. Heath then allegedly lunged at one of the officers and struck him in the shoulder and head with a knife.

Another officer on the scene shot Heath into submission.
