Video has surfaced showing a beach in California littered with rubble as repeated storms bringing heavy rain, powerful winds and widespread flooding are wreaking havoc across the state.
Images taken at Capitola Beach south of San Jose on Monday show the muddy waters of Monterey Bay splashing around piles of logs and other wood debris as gusty winds could be heard in the background.
“The endless onslaught of atmospheric riverine events continues in California,” the National Weather Service said Tuesday, signaling that relief has yet to come in the storm-weary state.
“Torrential rains, widespread flooding, rapid rises in water, landslides and mudslides with possible debris flows, heavy snowfall on the mountains, and strong wind gusts continue to be threats to the Golden State,” it added. “On Tuesday, heavy or excessive rainfall remains possible, especially in Southern California.”
