An Arizona man has been pulled over on traffic charges after a neighbor noticed something “out of place.” according to the police.

Steven Hurry was arguing with the victim outside his home when a neighbor who was watching the altercation thought something was “not right” between the two, Scottsdale police said.

Police were called to investigate the incident, and through investigation, the woman revealed that Hurry was trafficking her.

Rush was jailed on charges of sex trafficking, pimping, sexual assault, aggravated assault, assault, criminal mischief, and disorderly conduct.

According to court documents filed by police, Hurry and the victim had been living together since May. They lived in California after she started working as a housekeeper until Hurry asked her on May 25 that she come with him to Arizona to earn money.

They first stayed in Tucson, where Rush allegedly convinced the victim to allow him to photograph her for an ad he planned to create in which he would offer her up to other people for sexual acts.

“She described winning $700 the first time for having sex in 20 minutes with an unknown male subject, and the defendant took the full $700. Following this, the defendant collected the victim’s birth certificate, social security card, and other forms of identification and credentials and secured them in a box,” police said in court documents, adding that they never had access to box.

The victim was forced to have sex with men for money while she and Hurry were in Tuscon, and if she was low on money or didn’t put the money where Rush wanted it, he would beat her.

Rush and the victim moved to Scottsdale in late November and were residing at the Roadway Inn.

“Defendant created and published ads containing photographs of the victim and sexual advertising for money, including $350 per hour for full-length sex or a quick, 15-minute visit for $120,” police wrote.

Police allege that Hurry recorded sexual encounters that occurred four to six times a week and saved them to a hard drive.

Hurry up and the victim then moved into an Airbnb in Scottsdale.

Police said Hurry was having car trouble on December 26 and wanted to fix it using the money the victim received, but she told him she “couldn’t take it anymore,” she didn’t want to continue the commercial sex and wanted to leave.

That day, the victim had not counted the money she received from a “client” and Prisa got angry and confronted her in the kitchen. Rush began yelling at her and the victim snapped back, which got the attention of the neighbor who called 911.

Before officers arrived on the scene, Rush allegedly grabbed the woman, pushed her against the refrigerator, and lifted her up. She said that she was struggling to breathe but that she never lost consciousness. The victim ended up performing a sexual act to get her to stop.

Officers arrived at the home just after Hurry had left to fix his car, but they located him nearby and he admitted to officers that an argument had occurred. However, he denied the abuse and declined to answer questions about sex trafficking.

But a nurse documented signs of physical abuse on the victim, and Scottsdale police arrested Rush and seized his cellphone.

The victim told officers that Rush had raped her on Christmas Day.

She said that she wanted to leave Rush, but that he had control of all her documents and money.

The text messages between Hurry and the victim talked about setting up “dates” with men in exchange for money and included the date, time, the sexual act and the amount of money he needed to collect, according to police.

“A written document setting out the details between master and slave was found in the defendant’s computer bag. The document was unsigned, but the victim later informed him that she emailed him because she had the services of location turned off on his cell phone and he got very angry,” police said. “Also in the computer bag was a copy of the victim’s marriage license. She had no idea how he got the information or the document.”

Rush’s recordings of the sexual encounters were found on a USB stick at Airbnb. The victim said that she never consented to being recorded.

“The state is requesting that the defendant be held on a $150,000 bond,” police said. “The defendant inflicted physical and mental harm and forced the victim to engage in sexual acts for monetary gain.”
