Another elderly South African farmer has been BRUTALLY stabbed and shot to death on his Dwarsfontein farm while his ailing companion looked on.
ANOTHER SOUTH AFRICAN FARMER WAS BRUTALLY MURDERED
According to police spokesman Brigadier Selvy Mohlala, 80-year-old Hennie van Der Walt was killed on Wednesday.

Hennie and her life partner, Hester Smal, 79, who suffers from Alzheimer’s disease, were attacked in their home at night or early in the morning.
Farmworkers suspected something was wrong and alerted the neighbors, who rushed to the farm.
THE DEAD BODY OF THE FARMER WAS FOUND IN A BACK BEDROOM
“It was reported that when the employees were unable to enter the farm, they contacted the farmer’s daughter, who immediately contacted the police.
“The police quickly responded to the complaint and, after consulting with the relatives, they forced the door.”

Police found Hester unharmed but shaken.

“The search continued and the lifeless body of 80-year-old Hennie was found in the back bedroom with multiple gashes to her stomach.”
HE HAD MULTIPLE STAB WOUNDS AND A BATTLE WOUND
Mohlala said preliminary investigation suggests he suffered a gunshot wound and suspects multiple stab wounds.
So far the motive for the murder is unknown and no one has been arrested so far.

“The house appears to have been ransacked, PVR CCTV damaged and the safe opened.
“The police also discovered spent cartridges and some live ammunition in the house and in the orchard.”

He said bloody footprints were also noted and a safe was allegedly stolen from the home, but it was later found open in nearby bushes a few feet from the home.
“Currently, police cannot rule out the possibility that firearms and other items were stolen during the tragic incident.”

Meanwhile, the SAPS Provincial Commissioner in Mpumalanga, Lt. Gen. Semakaleng Daphney Manamela, condemned the attack on seniors who strive to feed the nation with their agricultural produce.
