Sports Mole previews Wednesday’s African Nations Championship clash between Senegal and Uganda, including predictions, team news and possible lineups.

Senegal will be looking to add two wins in as many matches at the African Nations Championship when they face Uganda on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Uganda set out to get back on track thanks to a share of the loot in their first CHAN meeting last time out.

match preview

Senegal got off to a perfect start when they prevailed in a close contest against the Ivory Coast Elephants on Saturday night.

pape thiaw‘s men were on the rise for long stretches of the contest, but had to wait until the 77th minute to open the scoring through Moussa Ndiaye.

Consequently, the Teranga Lions sit at the top of Group A after the first round of matches, two points clear of their nearest rivals, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda.

Their next mission sees them take on an opposing team that has gone winless in the previous four clashes between the teams in all competitions.

Fourteen years after their last appearance in the knockout phase of the African Nations Championship, Senegal now set to confirm their place in the latter stages of this year’s edition.

Uganda played out to a goalless draw against The Leopards of Congo DR in the teams’ group stage meeting at the Stade 19 Mai 1956 on Saturday.

In a match where clear chances were few and far between, Milutin Sredojevic‘s men failed to find the breakthrough their performance on the day perhaps deserved.

The Cranes have now failed to win any of their five most recent outings on either side of 2023, finding the back of the net just once in that time.

Looking to avoid an early exit from CHAN for the sixth time in a row, Uganda will know that anything less than a win in their next outing would mean the end of their journey once again.
