The district attorney met with officials at the New Jersey school where high school student Adriana Kuch was attacked in a hallway, intimidated and then took her own life, Fox News Digital has learned.
Video of the brutal assault showing Kuch being punched and kicked by other students was widely shared on social media, with the 14-year-old girl plagued by hateful comments before dying by suicide on February 3.
Despite the violence that left Kuch bloodied and bruised, school officials did not call the police.

A nearly identical incident happened to another student in January 2022 that included a filmed physical assault in a school hallway. Once again, they did not call the police, according to a lawsuit filed in October.
District officials and the school board president have not responded to Fox News Digital’s requests for comment.

Kuch’s death brought bullying to the fore and sparked student protests outside Central Regional High School.
Ocean County District Attorney Bradley Billhimer told Fox News Digital in an email that he spoke with protesting students and school officials Thursday for a two-hour private discussion.

He said he met again with the superintendent Friday morning “to discuss ways to improve the district’s response to on-campus incidents.”
“I also shared some suggestions on staffing changes, as well as programming and services to respond to student needs,” Billhimer said.

He declined to go into detail about their conversation, but did address Fox News Digital’s specific question about calling the police when there’s a violent confrontation.
“I can say that it was certainly a topic of discussion,” Billhimer said. “We discussed a number of things. I’d like the opportunity to help the school implement some of the suggestions I’ve made, so I don’t want to comment further at this time.”

Four students, whose names have not been released due to their age, have been criminally charged in connection with the attack in the hallway.
One minor is charged with aggravated assault, two minors were charged with conspiracy to commit aggravated assault, and the fourth minor was charged with stalking.
All four students involved in the attack have been expelled from the local high school.
