Yosemite National Park in California is reinstating its indoor mask mandate, citing an increased level of spread of COVID-19.

The national park made the announcement Friday, stating that face masks are required for people entering federal buildings or public transportation within Yosemite National Park.

“Due to the high level of community of COVID-19, the use of masks is now required for all persons when entering federal buildings and public transportation in Yosemite National Park, regardless of vaccination status,” states an Instagram post from the Yosemite National Park.

According to the Instagram post, the masking requirement also applies to vaccinated people.

The National Park Service disabled the comment feature on the post, only allowing people to “like” the image.

Mariposa County, which is a county within Yosemite National Park, has a “high” level of community spread of COVID-19, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
