New allegations surrounding the infamous Downing Street ‘party’ scandal have reignited public outrage after it came to light that government employees were having sex at pandemic lockdown parties.

Multiple witnesses at the party, which began as a farewell party for some colleagues, allegedly saw two couples getting very intimate, and both disappeared for a while, one in a dark room from which they later emerged “nervous” and the other. in an office “with the lights off”, The Times UK reported.

The new allegations follow a recent revelation that then-Prime Minister Boris Johnson said he was attending “the least socially distanced party in the UK right now”, although it is likely he was referring to a different party.

Revelations surrounding the “partygate” scandal gripped the British press for months and may have played a role in Johnson’s eventual dismissal. The scandal involved dozens of government employees throwing wild parties as the rest of the nation observed stricter lockdown rules for the holiday season.

“The work of Downing Street staff was crucial as they helped organize the UK’s response to a national emergency,” the statement added.

But Johnson faces a new “partygate” investigation, particularly focused on claims there was “an aspect of getting rid of the evidence,” according to The Daily Express. Guests may have taken photos and then removed them from social media out of fear that the photos served as incriminating evidence.

A committee investigating the parties and their numerous breaches of the lockdown will attend public sessions to present evidence and conclusions.

The evening reportedly included a “wine suitcase” partygoers brought from a supermarket and guests playing on a swing and slide belonging to Johnson’s son.

An official speaking to the ITV podcast expressed concern that most fines affect junior employees, stating that the official directly involved “deserved to be fined”.

“I was there and I’m ashamed of myself,” the official said, noting that most of the fines appeared to affect female junior employees who emailed and texted to help organize the event on behalf of their male bosses.
