Kirstie Alley, the two-time Emmy-winning actress who rose to fame with her role on the hit television series HealthHe died on Monday after a brief battle with cancer, his representative told Reuters. She was 71 years old.

His death was also confirmed through a statement from his children posted on his official Twitter account, who said that Alley died after cancer treatment at the Moffitt Cancer Center in Florida.

“To all of our friends, throughout the world…we are saddened to inform you that our amazing, fierce and loving mother has passed away after a recently discovered battle with cancer,” True and Lillie Parker’s statement said. she said.

“She was surrounded by her closest family and she fought hard, leaving us with the knowledge of her never-ending joy of life and the adventures to come. As iconic as she was on screen, she was an even more incredible mother and grandmother. .”

Alley’s breakout role came as Rebecca Howe on the NBC sitcom. Healthin which he starred from 1987 to 1993, and for which he received an Emmy Award and a Golden Globe Award in 1991. He won his second Emmy in 1994 for the TV movie David’s mother.

Alley also appeared in many movies during the 1980s and 1990s, including Look who’s talking, two are required, Deconstructing Henry Y drop dead beautiful.
