The University of Idaho will have more visible security during the last weeks of the fall semester after four students were stabbed to death on November 13.
The four students, Ethan Chapin, 20; Xana Kernodle, 20; Madison Mogen, 21; and Kaylee Goncalves, 21, were stabbed to death likely in their sleep between 3 and 4 am early Sunday morning in a Moscow, Idaho, home on King Road the University campusaccording to the police.
The university posted an Instagram Story about the increased security on Monday.
“There will be increased site security for the remainder of the semester,” the post reads, directing students to campus amenities like Safe Walk and Safe Ride.

The victims were on the second and third floors of the home on King Road, which is near the University of Idaho campus.
Police said there are two surviving roommates who were at the residence when the attack occurred, adding that they are not considered suspects.
The 911 call was made on the cell phone of “one of the roommates” at 11:58 a.m. Sunday morning, police said, adding that the victims were pronounced dead when officers arrived.

Authorities say the shooter used a “fixed blade knife” to kill all four victims, claiming there were multiple stab wounds on each victim.

During an earlier press conference, University of Idaho President Scott Green said student safety is becoming a top priority.
“We are making safety our top priority. We are also planning for the very real possibility that some students may not feel comfortable returning to campus. We will do everything possible to meet the needs of all students,” Green said.

The University of Idaho is also offering students the option to finish the semester remotely if they choose not to return to campus after the Thanksgiving break.
As the investigation enters its second week, Aaron Snell, director of communications for the Idaho State Police, told Fox News Digital during an earlier interview that investigators are making “substantial progress.”
