An Indiana man who remains a “person of interest” in the disappearance of his wife Ciera Breland nearly a year ago is reportedly facing extradition to the state after being held in Georgia on unrelated charges.

Xavier Breland, 37, has been in the Coweta County Jail in Georgia on charges related to the alleged stalking of his ex-wife since last year.

He is being extradited to Hamilton County, Indiana for unlawful possession of a firearm by a serious violent offender related to a February 2022 “accidental discharge” incident at his home in Carmel, Indiana. The charges are also unrelated to his disappearance.

The incident occurred two days after he reported his wife missing on February 26, 2022, reported FOX 5 in Atlanta and FOX 59 in Indianapolis.

Investigators also seized two handguns during a search of his home the day after he reported his wife missing and another handgun the next day when investigators returned for the “accidental discharge.”

The weapons charges were filed in Hamilton County, Indiana, last November.

“I want to make it clear that this is not related to the missing persons case,” said Lt. Tim Byrne of the Indiana Carmel Police Department, according to FOX 59.

Xavier Breland told investigators last year that he last saw his wife of 31 years walking to a store from their home in Carmel, Indiana, but was last seen in Johns Creek, Ga., on the 24th. February, according to police. there when he was seen on surveillance video leaving her mother-in-law’s house.

He allegedly told police that his wife went out in sub-zero temperatures wearing shorts to a nearby store, but left her wallet and cell phones at home.

The couple also have a baby who was five months old at the time of her disappearance.

Xaxier Breland has not been charged in her disappearance.

The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office has not given a timeline for his extradition and did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
