6.8 earthquake shakes Argentina; no deaths have been reported so far

The quake occurred at 8:09 p.m. local time on Friday and had its epicenter about 24 kilometers (15 miles) southwest of the town of Campo Gallo, in the province of Santiago del Estero. Its depth was 610 kilometers.
Authorities and local media reported no damage or deaths.
