The mother of Ethan Chapin, one of four University of Idaho students killed on November 13, says her son “loved unconditionally” and “touched lives we didn’t know existed.”
Ethan Chapin, 20, Xana Kernodle, 20, Madison Mogen, 21, and Kaylee Goncalves, 21, were stabbed to death by 28-year-old suspect Bryan Kohberger during the early hours of November 13 in Moscow, Idaho.
Stacy Wells Chapin wrote in a Facebook post Wednesday that she had just dropped off her two other children, Maizie Chapin and Hunter Chapin, at the University of Idaho on Wednesday. Maizie and Hunter attend the same school as their late brother Ethan.
“Yesterday, we successfully dropped them off at the University of Idaho. Hunter was very happy to be back in the sorority and Maizie was excited about the idea, but it was great to hear all the girls squeal with joy to see her.” It did this mommy’s heart good to hear it!!” said Stacy Wells Chapin.

“Maizie and Hunter are rock stars and we couldn’t be more proud of them,” added Stacy Wells Chapin. “We’ve spent the last eight weeks, aside from the obvious, focused on Maizie and Hunter. Letters, talks, walks, walks, tears, you name it.”
For Mazie and Hunter, Stacy Wells Chapin said that their “job now is just to be kids.”
“Pick up where you left off. Keep goals and aspirations in mind,” said Stacy Wells Chapin.
Ethan’s mother said her late son “is who he was because of our family.”

“His foundation was unshakable. He was so loved I knew no different. He was deeply supported and our family of five was unlike any other and very special,” she wrote in the Facebook post. “He was loyal to everyone, he was inclusive, carefree, happy, just the best person you could ever meet. The stories are endless and amazing.”
Stacy Wells Chapin added that her family “hasn’t taken the time to get angry”, adding that “that would be wasted energy and it still wouldn’t change the outcome.”
“We have to look ahead,” said the mother.

He also gave an update on Ethan’s possessions, stating that they are “frozen with defense”.
A Chapin family spokesperson told Fox News Digital that “the Chapins do not have access to these articles at this time. The defense has the right to review all related articles on the site if necessary.”

Kohberger, a teaching assistant at Washington State University and Ph.D. student in the Department of Criminal Justicehe was arrested on December 30 in Albrightsville, Pennsylvania.
He faces four counts of first degree murder and robbery with intent to commit murder. If he is convicted of first degree murder, Kohberger faces life in prison or the death penalty.
