In heartbreaking news, South African cricketer David Miller has taken to social media to report that a young child has passed away. While there was much speculation about the girl’s identity, according to various reports, she was not Miller’s daughter, but instead she was a fan of the Proteas hitter and was battling cancer.
In a farewell note, David Miller poured out his heart, wishing his biggest fan goodbye after he passed away from cancer at the age of 5. some of his best moments with the ‘little rocker’ of him.
The left-handed hitter also shared an emotional video as he said goodbye to her.
“RIP my little rock star I love you always!” he captioned a video he uploaded to Instagram.
In a previous story, Miller had written: “I’m going to miss you so much my chump! The biggest heart I’ve ever known. You took the fight to a different level, always incredibly positive and with a smile on your face. A cheeky and naughty side for you. You accepted each person and each challenge on your journey. You taught me a lot about appreciating every moment in life! I am honored to have walked a journey with you. I love you very much.”
Various media reports have claimed that the girl in the video is Miller’s own daughter. On the contrary, the reports also suggest that she is a fan closely related to the South African bat. There has been no official confirmation from Miller yet.
Miller is currently part of the South African team that is battling India in the ongoing ODI series, with the second match of the series scheduled for today in Ranchi.
Temba Bavuma’s side currently lead the series 1-0 having beaten the Men in Blue by 9 runs in the first ODI.
