A Tennessee kindergarten school essay about how his parents got into an argument and his mother allegedly fired a gun at him during the dispute led to his arrest.

Kaydra Johnson, 28, was arrested by Shelby County deputies Monday and charged with four counts of reckless endangerment, according to jail records. Authorities said four people were inside the Memphis-area home at the time she fired a gun, WREG-TV reported.

A school counselor at Donelson Elementary School alerted the state Department of Children’s Services to possible child abuse after the girl wrote a story about an argument at her home that ended with gunshots.

“Mother and father had a fight. Mom told him to leave because he was smoking too much. Father hit mother in the eye. Mother said look what you’ve done,” the kindergartner wrote, according to the station. “Mom got the gun out from under the bed. I was in the living room, and my sisters and brother were in the bedroom. The mom pointed the gun at the dad and fired three times. The bullets hit the wall. The mother told him to fall asleep. her car in the driveway and don’t come back or she’ll shoot you again.”

Just before his arrest, Johnson told officers that he had locked up his home and waited for an hour while his children, ages 4 and 1, were inside, according to the news outlet. The agents forced open the door of the house. The children were unharmed.

The agents saw several bullet holes inside the house, in the living room, the bedroom and the hallway. Johnson allegedly admitted to firing at least two shots at her husband. She said that she entered the house without permission and hit it with her fist and a vacuum cleaner.
