An Oklahoma firearms dealer is under investigation after more than 200 shotguns were found in a dumpster outside a store he owned in suburban Oklahoma City, according to a Federal Bureau of Investigation search warrant. of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.

The ATF and Mussatto did not immediately return phone calls to The Associated Press for comment Wednesday.
The search warrant said a company employee told agents the shotguns were defective and needed to be destroyed, but investigators believe the guns work and said they were not completely destroyed.

The document says Mussatto spoke to an ATF official “in the late summer or early fall of 2022, and asked him how to properly dispose of firearms he imported into the United States,” and was told to cut them down at three different locations, according to the search warrant.

Two men who worked near the business when officers arrived said they saw weapons in the dumpster earlier, and one said he was given two working, working shotguns and did not undergo the required background check to receive weapons.

The man, who said he wanted guns to display in his home, turned both in to ATF and was found to be allowed to possess firearms, authorities said.
