Livhuwani Madadzhe, arrested for the alleged murder of his wife, has dropped his application for bail.

  • A Limpopo man allegedly killed his wife of 32 years a day after she decided not to pursue a domestic violence case against him.
  • His body was found in a hole next to a toilet.
  • At the time of the murder, he was out on bail of R1000.

A 38-year-old Limpopo man who allegedly murdered his wife the day after she decided not to pursue a domestic violence case against him has dropped his bail application.

At the time of the murder, Livhuwani Madadzhe was out on bail of R1,000.

He appeared before the Thohoyandou Magistrate Court on Tuesday for the murder of Lindelani Nengovhela, 32, on January 28.

Nengovhela’s murder came a day after Madadzhe appeared in court in connection with a domestic violence case she had filed against him.

Limpopo National Prosecution Authority spokesman Mashudu Malabi-Dzhangi said Nengovhela approached the prosecution and the case was settled through a mediation process.

Malabi-Dzhangi said: “Both the deceased and the suspect effectively participated in the mediation process, which was initiated by the deceased. On January 28, 2023, the deceased’s lifeless body was discovered.”

Madadzhe, from Mangondi Sidou village, was arrested again, this time for murder.

He appeared in the dock on Tuesday, where he dropped his request for bail.

His matter was postponed until February 23 for further investigation.
