A nursing student appeared in a British court on Friday, accused of planning an attack on an air force base and bringing a pipe bomb into the maternity unit of the hospital where she worked.

Mohammad Farooq, 27, was arrested outside St. James’s University Hospital in Leeds, northern England, on January 20 with what prosecutors say was a “viable” pressure cooker bomb containing 30lbs of a house mix of explosive bass.

Prosecutors also allege that Farooq carried out a “hostile reconnaissance” of a Royal Air Force base in the north of England earlier this month after being encouraged online to attack it.

Farooq is also charged with possession of an explosive substance and possession of an imitation firearm for the hospital incident, which prosecutors say was motivated by a grudge against another staff member.
