A Nevada police officer has been fired after he was reportedly driving his patrol car intoxicated with bottles of alcohol and weapons found inside the vehicle.
Mesquite police detective. Gustavo Garcia, 35, was pulled over in his unmarked police car in Kingman, Arizona, after a caller reported that he was driving 30 miles per hour on a highway with a speed limit of 65. KVVU-TV reported.
Garcia was “wobbler” when he got out of the car and had difficulty “keeping his balance,” according to an Arizona Department of Public Safety report obtained by the outlet.
Another police officer reportedly helped stop Garcia from falling, and blood tests showed his blood alcohol content was .24, which is three times the legal limit.

A bottle of Jagermeister Cold Brew Coffee and a full bottle of Jagermeister liquor were found inside the Chevy Equinox, a “department-issued City of Mesquite unmarked patrol vehicle,” according to the report.
Two weapons were also found inside the vehicle: a Glock 17 9mm service weapon and a Glock 19 pistol, believed to be Garcia’s personal property.

“Upon completion of the internal investigation, Garcia was fired on Monday, January 9,” said Mesquite Police Sgt. Wyatt Oliver told KVVU-TV in a statement.
“Any time an officer commits a crime, it is unacceptable, painful and extremely discouraging,” Mesquite Police Chief Maquade Chesley said in a statement after Garcia’s DUI arrest in November.
“Her actions not only betray the public’s trust, but they damage the reputation of our entire profession.”
